Innovation & IP Project Manager for Hub Innovazione Trentino s.c.a.r.l. (HIT)

Article 1
(General Context)

HUB INNOVAZIONE TRENTINO s.c.a.r.l. (HIT) intends to select a candidate for the position of “Innovation & IP Project Manager”. HIT is a non-profit corporate consortium with limited liability, whose stakeholders are University of Trento ( www.unitn.it ), Bruno Kessler Foundation ( www.fbk.eu ), Edmund Mach Foundation ( www.fmach.it ) and Trentino Sviluppo ( www.trentinosviluppo.it ).
The vision at the basis of HIT is to foster the economic growth of Trentino and its entrepreneurial environment through the driver of innovation.
The mission of HIT is articulated on three main priority goals:
- catalyzing innovation opportunities for local enterprises and for its stakeholders;
- promoting Trentino’s research results in order to favor the local economic development;
- supporting local enterprises in their innovation and internationalization processes within national and European network.

Article 2
(Job Description)

The successful candidate will work to strengthen HIT’s Strategic Projects Unit supporting the operational and administrative management of ongoing projects and the development of new funding opportunities in fields consistent with HIT’s mission.
In this regard, reference is made, as a way of example, to activities performed by HIT – based on a precise mandate of the Autonomous Province of Trento and HIT’s shareholders – in initiatives such as Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KIC), National Technology Clusters, the Vanguard Initiative and Eusalp.
Furthermore, in connection with the HIT’s Unit dedicated to the transfer of high-value-added innovative solutions to the market, the selected candidate will support the administrative and contractual activities related to the protection and management of the intellectual property managed by HIT for its shareholders .

Article 3
(Selection Procedure)

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • University Degree (5-year course or equivalent);
  • professional experience in the management of projects funded in the context of European Framework Programs and/or the European Technology Institute and/or programs funded by European Structural Funds (firstly, local cooperation);
  • knowledge of the European, national and provincial framework and implementing programs in the context of industrial research, innovation and technological transfer policies, with particular reference to the Smart Specialization Strategy of the Autonomous Province of Trento;
  • proven knowledge in the field of intellectual property protection and administrative and contractual management related to the protection and management of intellectual property;
  • excellent knowledge of Italian and English languages (at least C1), written and oral.

PREFERENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Thorough knowledge and experience in supporting the business plan and business modelling phases of European projects (e.g. feasibility studies, evaluation of market potential of technologies, go-to-market strategies);
  • further specializations or professional experiences in the field of technology transfer, innovation management and intellectual property;
  • knowledge of the productive tissue and the research system in Trentino;
  • knowledge of additional languages, firstly German and French.

To fulfill the position, excellent communicative and public speaking skills are required, as well as the ability to relate to local, national and international contexts characterized by strong dynamism and innovation. Availability to travel frequently is a necessary condition for carrying out activities. In addition, it is necessary to demonstrate a resourceful and pro-active attitude in managing and solving complex problems (problem solving).
The candidate must also demonstrate flexibility, results orientation, proactivity and time management skills, identifying priorities in terms of importance and urgency.

Article 4
(Type of Contract and Terms of Employment)

HIT will offer a full-time, fixed term, employment contract.
The salary and term of the contract will be determined based on the qualifications and experiences of the successful candidate, in accordance with applicable provisions of the Provincial Collective Labor Agreement for Foundations (Ccpl Fondazioni, L.P. 14/2005 e ss.mm).
The post will be based at HIT premises, in Trento, Italy.

Article 5
(Selection Procedure)

Upon expiration of the deadline for submission, a Committee will assess the applications based on the requirements specified in Article 3 above. A shortlist of candidates considered more suitable will be invited for an interview with the same Committee or an ad hoc one. The meetings of the Committee, as well as the interviews, may be held remotely.
Based on the comparative assessment and the interviews, the Committee will identify the candidate deemed to be the most suitable for the position. The Board of Directors will resolve the hiring of such selected candidate.
For transparency purposes, the name of the selected candidate who will accept the position will be published on HIT website.

Article 6
(Application Procedure)

Email with a different subject will NOT be processed.
The submission of an application is tantamount to an explicit permission to HIT to process personal data, pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 and subsequent amendments, for the purpose of completing the selection procedure and, in case of hiring, for the purpose of managing the employment relation.
Applications must be submitted before and no later than July 6, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. (CET)
Applications received after the above deadline will NOT be eligible, even if the non-delivery or late delivery is due to force majeure, unforeseeable events or the actions of third parties.

Article 7
(Effective Date of the Contract)
